When the stormtroopers assured him that there was no one inside the YT-1300 freighter, Kylo Ren entered the old, battered ship.
He breathed in the smell he was once used to smelling. But through his
mask, it smelled strange somehow. Kylo looked at the familiar
midsection of the ship, with the Dejarik table. He remembered very well
how often he had played a game with his father.
This freighter was not just any freighter. It was the Millennium Falcon. The ship of the famous Han Solo, the ship of the man he once called father.
As Kylo entered the cockpit, the memories of the past, of his past, were almost overwhelming.
He saw himself, no, his former self Ben Solo, sitting on his father's
lap, tiny fingers clutching the lever to activate the hyperdrive. These
shared moments with his father were rare. But when they did happen,
they were full of joy, adventure and excitement.
But then came the day when everything changed. Ben was sent to his
uncle to learn how to use the Force. It was the last time he was on
board the Millennium Falcon, until that day.
Suddenly Kylo realized he was giving in to sentimental feelings. Han
Solo was on Starkiller Base and that meant danger. He had to stop him.
Maybe meeting him would be the test that Supreme Leader Snoke had mentioned.
Kylo was not sure what he would do when he met the man he no longer
called father. Maybe he would kill him, and maybe his inner pain would
finally stop.
He left the Millennium Falcon and hurried back to base, ready to face his fate.
